Whitstable Junior School

Learning today for life tomorrow

Behaviour

Our Behaviour Policy is underpinned by our Core Values and Community Code - The Whitstable Way. We pride ourselves on the excellent behaviour for learning in class which enables our children to make good learning progress and to enjoy their time at WJS. Conduct behaviour outside of class is also a strength.

Ofsted 2013 and 2015 judged behaviour and well-being for vulnerable pupils as very good.

Behaviour is now moving towards outstanding as we further develop our policy and practice this year with the introduction of our new Positive Behaviour Policy alongside our new online CarrotRewards system which involves each child collecting points towards their own online avatar.

We have many systems to help and support our children to learn and show good behaviour.

In choosing our school we assume that parents accept our high standards of discipline and behaviour. The support of parents is valued in our attempts to ensure the proper care and safety of our children.

Our Behaviour Policy encourages children to take responsibility for their own behaviour and its impact on others in preparation for adult life. We expect the children to respond to adults and school rules in a polite and appropriate manner.
