School Council 2022/2023 on a recent visit to meet the Lord Mayor of Canterbury 

Here at WJS we aim to develop children’s character and nurture their leadership skills through the school house system, pupil leadership team and our school council. The Pupil Leadership Team are selected through an application process. We have a Head Girl and Head Boy and a Deputy Head Girl and Deputy Head Boy. You can see who are this year's PLT below.

We also have a  School Council. The school council representatives are elected by their class and at the monthly meetings, they bring their classes ideas, share any issues that might have been raised and vote on a number of agenda items. The meetings provide another arena for the children to discuss and debate issues in a considered way and the idea of democracy is promoted throughout the school.
