The WJS Playground Project
I am so excited to tell you about our plans for the updating of the Whitstable Junior School playground. The school have managed to save super hard and have some of the funds ready to start our Playground Project but we do need a little bit of help to get enough funds to realise all of our dreams for the children.
Our plans involve replacing our much loved, but very tired, all-weather pitch with a brand-new multi-sports artificial grass area in green with 2 blue short tennis courts and a red track around the perimeter. We would also like to have a clamber stack installed and refresh all our playground markings.
A new multi-sports surface will be a place for the children to learn new skills, enjoy competition, understand team building and enjoy being active. It is so important for a school to have a playground that encourages children to socialise and play collaboratively. A fabulous clamber stack will help the children build and develop their co-ordination and balance and also let their imagination run wild.
We are hoping you feel the same about this project and understand how much the children will benefit from this update. Therefore, we are reaching out to all our parents and carers, and our community, to see if you may be able to donate to our fundraising campaign and help bring smiles to the children’s faces.
It is our aim to raise an ambitious £30,000, or more if possible. The total cost of the project is £60,000.
All donators will be recognised on our website (unless you remain anonymous). Donations of £25+ will be displayed on our Tree of Thanks and donations of £200+, £500+ and £1000+ will be recognised with a plaque in the school grounds. However, any size donation is warmly welcomed, every penny will count.
There are a number of ways to donate. You can donate using our JustGiving Page Just Giving WJS Playground Project . Please use the name you would like displayed on our Tree of Thanks or plaque. You can also donate by cheque, made payable to Whitstable Junior School and sent to the school office, (Whitstable Junior School, Oxford Street, Whitstable, Kent, CT5 1DB). If you’d like to send in cash to the school office that is fine too.
If you would like to remain anonymous tick this option on our JustGiving page or let us know when you send us the cheque or cash.
We have spoken to the children about the “WJS Playground Project” today and they are excited to know they will be doing their bit to raise money through a mini-enterprise project being held in term 6. I’m sure they will tell you more about it when they start planning it next term.
Thank you in advance for any donation you are able to give to the project. We really appreciate anything you can give and know that Whitstable children for many years to come will reap the rewards of your generosity.
